I’m so tired of people telling me German is an “ugly, angry” language. When my German teacher tells us jokes it’s the sweetest, happiest language in the world. When I teach my father the word for daughter he smiles, repeating “Tochter” to himself until he gets it right, and in that moment German sounds like pride. There’s nothing angry or ugly about a language that never says goodbye, only “until we meet again.”

Thank you for this

We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

You know what I’m saying? I’m saying this is bullshit. If a sixteen year old Dean Winchester came face to face with a werewolf like that, he wouldn’t be alive. The werewolf wouldn’t grab him from the forearms. He or she would bite him and claw him till he was dead or too weak to move.

So yeah, this isn’t a werewolf. That’s just John.

Friendly reminder that Dean didn’t ever personally encounter a werewolf until Season 2, 11 years after this episode.

OH WELL FUCK YOU BOTH! ITS 1:30 IN THE MORNING I DIDN”T NEED THE FUCKING FEELSTANIC HITTING ME

Yep, you can see the marks left by the sides of the hand, which is where the most pressure is applied, as well as a thumb mark which is darker, indicating a stronger grip. That thumb mark is over a pressure point - that together with the intensity of it indicate that the perpetrator a) intended to cause enough pain to prevent the victim from struggling out of their grip, and b) knew what they were doing. This is not how you grab someone who is dangling over a cliff and will fall unless you drag them up right the fuck now. This is how you grab someone who has pissed you off and whom you want to make feel like a worthless maggot, to remind them that they answer to you.

Oh, and if you look closely you can see that there are a couple of marks that partially overlap. That means that this has happened multiple times recently.
